INTI assigned to provide LPG package for fishermen

State owned technology firm PT INTI has been assigned by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said to provide free LPG tool packages for small fishermen as part of the government?s program to convert them from using diesel oil to LPG in their fishing boats.

The minister issued the assignment through a ministerial decree dated Dec. 3, 2015.

INTI is known as a state company which produces electronic products, information system, telecommunication gadgets etc. One of its products is a fuel oil-to-LPG converter kit. That?s why the firm is considered qualified to get the assignment.

As part of the assignment, the firm first has to distribute 200 converter kits along with supporting tools to fishermen in Cirebon regency, West Java province; Probolinggo regency, East Java province; and Kepulauan Seribu regency in Jakarta this year. The program is financed using the ministry?s budget.

Under Presidential Decree 126/2015 on the Provision, Distribution and Price Setting of LPG for Small Fishermen, the fishermen will get the first converter kits for free.
