IDX-listed heavy equipment company PT Intraco Penta Tbk is considering to expand the capacity of its recently-acquired 2x55 coal-fired plant in Batam, Riau Islands Province.
Febrianto Williansa, Director of INTA Resources, a subsidiary of Intraco said, however, the company is still waiting for direction from the state-owned electricity firm PT PLN over the plan.
?We?re waiting from PLN, actually the land in Batam is enough to accommodate up to four (generating) units,? he told Petromindo.com.
Intraco completed in July the acquisition of 30 percent shares in PT Petra Unggul Sejahtera (PUS), the parent company of PT TJK Power, which operates a 2x55 MW PLTU Batam coal-fired power plant.
Other shareholders of PUS are Batam Power Ventures Pte Ltd, and China Huadian Engineering Co Ltd.
