The Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) wants to takeover the role in issuing investment license for post-exploration activities in the mining and oil and gas sectors currently held by the ministry of energy and mineral resources and the state-owned oil and gas firm Pertamina.
The Bisnis Indonesia daily quoted a BKPM senior official, Yus?an, as saying that the move was necessary to improve efficiency by providing a one-stop service facility.
But he said that if the plan was realized, his office would still make coordination with both the ministry of energy and mineral resources and Pertamina, and other related bodies to provide better service to investors.(*)
