The Tangguh consortium led by British firm BP Plc has made a Final Investment Decision (FID) for the Train 3, setting the total investment for the project at US$10 billion, a source said on Monday.
Upstream authority SKK Migas has approved of the FID, added the source.
The Tangguh Train 3 is designed to have the capacity of 3.8 mtpa and is expected to start production in 2018 or 2019 with 40 percent of the output allocated for the domestic market.
SKK Migas Deputy for Commercialization Control at upstream authority, Widhyawan Prawiraatmadja told Petromindo in September this year the FID is expected to be made before the end of 2014.
