Investors should help infrastructure developments: SK Migas

Temporary upstream authority SK Migas is encouraging investors to help develop networks of gas infrastructure in the country to make sure that the ever-increasing domestic demand could be supported by adequate and smooth distribution lines.

?Gas potential in Indonesia is aplenty. But it has to be balanced by the development of infrastructure. Currently for instance, we only have West Java FSRU. In the future, there should also be an FSRU each in Central Java and East Java,? Hadi Prasetyo, Head of PR, Security and Formality Division, told petromindo.com.

As for areas outside Java, he added, mini floating LNG facilities should also be developed. ?Please, don?t just scream whenever there is a gas shortage without thinking about the distribution channels. Investors must be invited to think about it.?

Hadi said that gas potential is big in Java alone. He pointed as examples the Kangean block with its Terang-Sirasun-Batur fields with production of 300 mmscfd and Madura MD block with 100 mmscfd.
