IP, EGAT to sign MoU to develop power plant in S. Sumatra

Indonesia Power, a subsidiary of state power company PLN and Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to build a coal-fired power plant in South Sumatra.
?The MoU will be signed in Thailand next week,? said Wimpy S. Tjetjep, director general of geology and mineral resources at the ministry of mines and energy.
Wimpy said the capacity of the power plant and construction schedule are still subject to negotiation, but coal requirement for the power plant would come from state coal-ming company PT. Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam (PTBA) and Banpu?s Mumpun Pandan coal-mine in Jambi. (alex/godang)
