IP opens coal supply tender for Suralaya

PT.Indonesia Power, a subsidiary of state electricity firm PLN, on Wednesday announced coal supply pre-qualification tender for its 3,400-MW Suralaya power plant in Banten province.

The company is looking for potential suppliers which hold Coal Contract of Work license from the government with minimum production capacity of at least 400,000 tonnes per month and coal reserves sufficient for at least 5 years of production.

IP also requires eligible bidders to have been in production for at least five years.

IP is looking for coal with CV off +/-5,100 (AR), total moisture of 23.6% - 27% (AR), ash content less than 8% (AR), sulphur content less than 0.9% (AR) and HGI of 48-64.2.

The company did not disclose the volume of coal it intended to procure.

The PQ tender submission would be closed on October 25, 2007. (alex)
