Indonesia Power CEO Tonny Agus Mulyantono said that the study on the facilities was now near completion and PQ tneder is expected to be opened within the next few months.

He did not give detail about the facility?s proposed capacity.

Indonesian Coal Mining Association (ICMA) Chairman Jeffrey Muljono said that development of coal blending facility would enable the power plant to buy coal from various type and to blend them to meet its requirement. ?Suralaya would have a wider range of choice in terms of coal type,? he said.

Suralaya consumes around 10 million tonnes of coal per annum, 50 percent of which is supplied by state coal miner PT. Tambang Batubara Bukit Asam. Consumption is expected to increase within the next few years with construction of new power plant units. (godang)
