Power producer PT Indonesia Power (IP), a subsidiary of state-owned electricity firm PT PLN, plans to develop a 30 MW hydro power plant (PLTA) project in Southeast Sulawesi, with construction hopefully can start next year.

IP President Director Sripeni Inten Cahyani told Petromindo.com recently the company will team up with a subsidiary of state-owned construction firm PT Brantas Abipraya in developing the project.

?Construction (to start) in 2018. Construction process of a PLTA is quite long because there are quite complex civil works involved, it usually takes about 4-5 years,? she explained.

The power plant will utilize water resource from the local Poigar River.
