Suralaya Baru has a generating capacity of 1 x 600 MW and Labuan would operate with a generating capacity of 2 x 300 MW.

The Labuan power plant has started construction in April 2007 with the consortium of Chengda Engineering Corporation of and PT Truba Jurong Engineering as the engineering procurement and construction (EPC) contractor, with PT Widjaya Karya acting as the sub-contractor.
