IPA supports year-of-drilling program

The Indonesian Petroleum Association (IPA) will collaborate and communicate more intensively with upstream authority SKK Migas in the latter?s bid to make 2013 the year of drilling, according to IPA Chairman Lukman Mahfoedz.

Lukman told petromindo.com that IPA stands ready to support the movement and has continued to coordinate with the agency to make drilling, be it for production or exploration, a priority this year.

?In improving production and exploration activities, there are two important things that IPA and SKK Migas talked about, the need for better collaboration as well as communication and teamwork between the two,? he said.

IPA expects that with a better communication and collaboration, classic obstacles such as licensing process and overlapping could significantly be reduced.

Meanwhile, the agency today will also hold a meeting on working plans for all divisions and units to synchronize programs to support companies in finding new reserves and increasing production. Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik will deliver a keynote speech in the meeting.
