Iraq offers RI to participate in mega crude pipeline project

The government of Iraq has offered Indonesian investors to participate in the construction of a 1,680 km crude pipeline linking Basra in Iraq and Aqaba in Jordan.
The new crude pipeline would be an alternative crude distribution route to be developed by Iraq, which aims to produce up to up to 8 million bpd of crude in 2018, the Indonesian Directorate General of Oil and Gas said in a statement obtained Thursday.
The Basra-Aqaba pipeline is designed to be able to deliver up to 1 million bpd of crude.
?In relation to the planned (project), the government of Iraq has offered investors in Indonesia including state-owned enterprises and construction firms to participate in the construction,? the statement said.
