Power plant boiler maker Ishikawajima-Harima is diversifying its business in Indonesia by entering into the business of refurbishment and improvement of aging power plants, Kontan reported on Friday.
The paper quoted Iwan Setiawan, a manager of the company?s Jakarta representative office, as saying that the company is looking to participate in tender for power plant improvement contracts at the PLTU Suralaya coal-fired power plant unit III and IV next year.
He said that last year, the company failed to win tender for power plant improvement work at the PLTU Suralaya unit I and II.
The company started entering the power plant refurbishment business last year. Its main core business, however, remains manufacturing of power plant boilers. The company has own manufacturing facility in Indonesia with capacity of 10,000 tons or equal to 2,000 MW per year. (*)
