Ithaca Resources to produce coal from new pit this year

Coal mining company Nusantara Berau Coal, a subsidiary of PT Ithaca Resources, will commence production from a new pit at its coal concession in Berau Regency, North Kalimantan this year.

The company is eyeing one million ton production from the new pit this year.

Liberty Simanjuntak, Corporate Secretary of Ithaca Resources told Petromindo.com on Friday that preparation for production is now in the final stage. Currently the company is constructing a hauling road to the new pit.

He said the firm had obtained the forestry license (IPPKH) for the new pit last year. The new pit covers a total area of about 1,200 hectares.
