ITM picks Pama as mine contractor in Bharinto mine

Indonesia-listed coal miner PT Indo Tambangraya Megah (ITM) has picked Indonesia largest coal contractor PT Pamapersada Nusantara (Pama) as mining contractor to exploit its East Kalimantan coal mine unit PT Bharinto Ekatama.

ITM said in the presentation that Pama will be working as mine contractor starting 4Q 2011 with initial production of 200,000 tonnes of coal.

ITM also reported that crushing plant construction has been completed and now in commissioning stage in Bharinto mine despite land clearing is still under progress.

Bharinto, which is a third generation of Coal Contract of Work (CCoW) holder, is located in West Kutai regency, East Kalimantan and in Barito Utara regency, Central Kalimantan, covering an area of 22,000 hectares. The mine location is adjacent to ITM?s other mine PT. Trubaindo Coal Mining, which is currently in production.

The mine will produce coal with CV range of 6,400-6,800 Kcal/kg (ADB). (denny)
