ITM to start coal production from new mines

Indonesia-listed coal miner PT Indo Tambangraya Megah (ITM), a unit of Thai energy conglomerate Banpu PCL will start production from its two East Kalimantan mines this year, with initial combined production of 700,000 tonnes.
CFO Edward Manurung told reporters on Monday that its unit PT Bharinto Ekatama will start production in the fourth quarter this year with initial 2011 production of 200,000 tonnes.
Other coal mine called Kitadin Tandung Mayang, will start production in the second half of this year with initial production of 500,000 tonnes.
ITM is targeting to produce and sell 25 million tonnes of coal this year from its mines in East Kalimantan and South Kalimantan. (giok)
