IDX-listed coal mining company PT Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk (ITMG) said construction of a coal hauling road in East Kalimantan is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
ITMG President Director Kirana Limpaphayon told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that although heavy rainfall has often caused delay in the construction work, the company will try to complete the project by the end of this year as planned. ?Heavy rainfall is our major challenge. But it is still progressing, and is still in line with the target (for completion),? Kirana said.
Kirana said that the hauling road will be used to transport coal produced by its two mines Trubaindo and Bharinto. As the new road will shorten the distance from the stockpile to the company?s Bunyut coal port in East Kalimantan, it would help reduce operational cost.
ITMG has recently completed the expansion of the Bunyut port, increasing its coal loading capacity to 15 million tons per annum from 9 mtpa to facilitate rising production at two subsidiaries PT Trubaindo Coal Mining and PT Bharinto Ekatama in the future.
