ITMG?s Tandung Mayang mine to cease operation end 2015

IDX-listed coal mining firm PT Indo Tambangraya Megah Tbk (ITMG) said that its Tandung Mayang coal mine in East Kalimantan run by subsidiary PT Kitadin Tandung Mayang will cease commercial operation by the end of this year due to depleting reserves, and will soon enter mine closure stage.
?In 2014, with total coal production of 1,920,000 tons, Kitadin Tandung Mayang contributed 6.4 percent to the total production of the company of 29,850,000 tons,? ITMG said in a statement Wednesday.
According to company website, PT Kitadin was established on January 25, 1978 and holds two coal mining rights (KP) for Embalut mine valid from February 25, 2009 ? February 25, 2013; and for Tandung Mayang mine valid from May 28, 2008 ? May 28, 2018.
Kitadin?s Embalut concession covers 2,973 hectares in Embalut village, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan. The coal is sub-bituminous with a calorific value of 5,850 kcal/kg and sulfur content of 0.3 percent
Kitadin Tandung Mayang mine has a concession area of 2,338 hectares and is located in Tandung Mayang, in the Regency of East Kutai, East Kalimantan. The coal has a calorific value of 6,700 kcal/kg and sulfur content of 1.6 percent.
