IDX-listed PT J Resources Asia Pasifik produced 244,850 ounces of gold in 2015, up by 10 percent from 223,305 ounces in the previous year.

The production increase came from the firm?s gold production in Indonesia and overseas. In Indonesia, the firm operates two gold mines, located in Bakan and Lanut Utara in North Sulawesi province. Outside of the country, the firm operates a gold mine in Penjom in Malaysia.

The Bakan mine is the largest contributor to the production increase with production reaching 126,277 in 2015 or 10,000 ounces per month on average. The Seruyung mine recorded of 78,049 ounces of production. The Bakan and Seruyang mines,, the newest mines owned by the firm, came into production in 2014.

Lanut Utara mine produced 4,292 ounces, while production at Penjom mine stood at 36,232 ounces, higher than the target set by the firm.

President Director Jimmy Budiarto said the Seruyang mine could produce a larger amount of gold but the firm slowed down the production due to annual maintenance program.

With regards Lanut Utara mine, the firm said the mine has reached an economic reserve of gold oxide ore and is still possible to operate in the next two years. After an innovative processing of dum leach and heap leach, the firm decided that the mine has a sulfide ore deposit and is evaluating its economic metallurgy and production.
