The company?s president director Darmono said on Wednesday that KIJA would cooperate with local governments in the construction and operation of the new power plants.
?At present, the company is still assessing the possibility of building the power plants in cooperation with local governments,? he said following the inauguration of the company?s gas-fired power plant in the company?s industrial estate in Cikarang, West Java.
The new power plant which is operated by KIJA?s subsidiary PT Bekasi Power has capacity to produce 130 megawatt. The electricity from the power plant is sold to state owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) at a price of Rp 1,050 per kilo watt hours (kwh) under a 20-year contract.
The power plant receives gas supply of about 23 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) from Pertamina EP and Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) respectively.
Bekasi Power expects to book about Rp 900 billion in revenues from the sales of the electricity to PLN a year. (*)
