Oil and gas production at the Jabung block, in Jambi, operated by PetroChina (Jabung) has started to increase following the reopening of 14 sealed wells last month, Deputy for Operational Control at upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas, Muliawan.
Muliawan told Petromindo.com Wednesday that crude oil production at the block has increased to 15,560 bopd as of October 6, while gas flow reached 156.2 mmsfd. He did not provide comparative figures.
Due to permitting-related issue, the Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency administration sealed off 14 wells in the Jabung block on May 24, and was reopened on September 24 and 25.
A PetroChina official in June earlier expressed that it would not be able to meet the 2013 production target of 15,996 bopd due to the sealing off of the wells.
