Jakarta government, GE plan gas-fired power plant

Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahja Purnama said that the administration-owned company PT Jakarta Propertindo and GE Power plant to jointly develop a gas-fired power plant.
Basuki said in a statement that the power plant will be needed to meet growing power demand in the capital city particularly from the currently being developed mass rapid transportation system, light railway transit project, and 17 artificial islands.
The governor met on Thursday with visiting President Director of GE Power, Steve Bolze. No further details were provided about the planned project.
