PLN said Wednesday that greater Jakarta area may experience partial blackout since Thursday due to fuel supply problems in Muara Tawar power plant.
PLN spokesperson Muljo Adji said that the problem was due to damage in a ship that carried fuel for Muara Tawar. The problem caused the vessel unable to unload the fuel. Current fuel stock in the power plant is expected to wear out Thursday.
He estimated that some 450MW of power would be offline.
He said that PLN is currently working to tackle the problem.(godang)
