The Jakarta provincial administration on Thursday signed an agreement with two private firms PT Jakarta Propertindo and PT Transportasi Jakarta to develop 20 gas filling stations, Kompas reported on Friday.

The paper quoted Secretary of the administration Saefullah as saying that the development of the gas filling stations is expected to help increase the consumption of gas in the city.

He pointed out that out of the total available gas supply of 33.2 mmscfd, so far only 5 mmscfd has been utilized due to the classical problem of the lack of filling stations.

Saefullah said that of the planned 20 gas filling stations, 10 would be static stations, while the other half would be mobile stations.(*)
