Jakpro launches mobile gas refueling unit

In a bid to support the government?s oil fuel-to-gas conversion program, PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) through its subsidiary PT Jakarta Utilitas Propertindo (JUP) on Tuesday launched what is claimed to be the world?s first ?online? mobile refueling unit (MRU) in Pluit, North Jakarta.

?This is the first online MRU in the world. This is the latest breakthrough, a gas refilling station that can flexibly move around,? said President Director of Jakpro Satya Heragandhi in a statement.

Satya said the MRU will serve mass transportation system particularly public buses operated by Transjakarta.

He added that the MRU in Pluit is part of three MRUs prepared by the company. The two others will each be stationed in Harmoni (Central Jakarta) and Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung, or alternatively in Cawang (East Jakarta).

One MRU has a capacity equivalent to 30,000 liters of gasoline, able to serve 120 buses per day, he said. With three MRUs, Jakpro can serve up to 360 Transjakarta buses per day.

Jakpro currently operates 10 gas refill stations all located in Jakarta.
