Jambi coal miner ramps up production

GM Marketing Imam Santoso told petromindo.Com on Thursday that the increase would be due to the opening of new pit and addition of heavy equipments in the mine.
The company has started production since 2002 with all production sold to domestic market. According to Imam, the company has contracts to supply Ombilin plant in West Sumatra 12,500 tonnes of coal per month since 2005; 5-year contract with West Sumatra cement plant PT.Semen Padang (20,000 tonnes per month since 2005); and 20,000 tonnes per month to Riau pulp and paper firms.
The company has also bagged 20-year contract to supply 10.5 MT of low CV coal or 525,000 tonnes per year to 2x115-MW Labuhan Angin power plant in North Sumatra strarting mid-2008.
The company, which holds coal of contract of work permit at the area of 3,800 hectares in Muara Bungo regency produce two types of coal; 4,200-4,800 KCAl/kg (AR) and 6,100-6,300 KCAL/kg (AR) with mineable reserves of around 30 MT. Imam said the higher CV coal is entirely sold to Ombilin and Semen padang. (denny)
