Jambi coal product difficult to market

Governor of Jambi Province Zulkifli Nurdin said Friday that the local coal product was difficult to be marketed because of the low calorie content.

Zulkifli was quoted as saying by the local Sriwijaya Post daily that the province needed a huge scale cement manufacturer to be able to absorb the province's coal production.

He said that cement maker PT Semen Baturaja planned to establish another plant in the Sarolangan area, but it only needed around 10 thousand tons of coal per month.

He said that the remaining unabsorbed coal production was still huge.

Zulkifli appealed to other industries to follow Semen Baturaja to take advantage of the Jambi coal production. (*)
