Jambi plans 1,200 MW mine mouth power plant

A 1,200 MW mine mouth power plant project will be developed in Jambi to provide electricity for a special economic zone to be located at the province?s eastern coast, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Wednesday.

The paper quoted Head of the Jambi Energy and Mineral Resources Office, Gamal Husin as saying that the project is currently entering the tender process.

He said that the power plant project has been included in the 2016-2025 electricity procurement business plan (RUPTL) of state-owned electricity firm PT PLN. He did not provide further details about the mine mouth power plant project. (*)
