The planned 2x400 MW Jambi coal-fired power plant in the province of Jambi will require coal supply of 2.7 million tons per year, said Head of Coal Division at state-owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara, Helmi Najamuddin.
?The coal suppliers for the project have yet to be determined because based on the RUPTL (the general plan for electricity supply) the power plant will start operation in 2020,? he told Petromindo.com.
He added that the tender to select the contractor for the project has yet to be completed. ?The project is currently at the pre-feasibility study status,? he said.
