Jambi produces 5.7 million tons of coal

Jambi Province, which has 1.49 billion of coal resources and 800 million tons of mineable coal reserves, produced 5.7 million tons of coal in 2015 from only 13 producing coal mining companies.
"There are 13 producing coal mining companies in Jambi. The total coal production in 2015 was 5.7 million metric tons," Abdul Salam Lubis, Head Division of General Mining at Jambi's Energy and Mineral Resources Office, said to Petromindo.com on Tuesday. He did not provide comparative figure for 2014.
Jambi Province has 347 mining permits (IUP) and four Coal Contracts of Work (CCoW). The province owns sub-bituminous coal resources with calorific value ranging from 4,900 kcal/kg to 6,700 kcal/kg (ADB) and mostly has high total moisture.
