The construction of 108 kilometers coal hauling road in Jambi Province has been stalled due to the current low coal price environment. The road is owned by PT Sinar Anugerah Sukses (SAS).

"The construction progress is quite slow due to the low coal prices," Abdul Salam Lubis, Head Office of General Mining at Jambi's Energy and Mineral Resources Department said to Petromindo.com on Thursday.

The groundbreaking of the project was conducted last year and was expected to finish this year. The road will span from Sarolangun to Mendalo and the coal will be loaded to barge in the nearby jetty before transshipped to mother vessel.

Abdul Salam said that SAS is currently exploring two mining permits (IUPs) of rock mines as it will be used for road compacting.

He also added that SAS already completed the environmental impact analysis (Amdal) and most of the land acquisition.
