Jambi starts construction of LPG plant, power plant

Construction of an LPG plant and a 15 MW gas-fired power plant in West Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi Province, has started with a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday led by Jambi Governor Hasan Basri Agus.
The provincial administration said in a statement obtained Friday that provincial-owned company PT Jambi Indoguna International, and West Tanjung Jabung Regency-owned company Perusda Jabung Barat Sakti, in partnership with private firm PT Bumi Jambi Energi are developing the projects.
The statement did not provide much details about the projects, but the statement quoted West Tanjung Jabung Vice Regent, Katamaso as saying that the ?the project is expected to be able to produce 85-100 tons of LPG and to develop a 15 MW gas-fired power plant which will have positive impact on the welfare of the West Tanjung Jabung people.?
According to the statement, the upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas in 2011 allocated gas from Perochina-operated oil and gas fields in the regency to the two local companies.
