Jambi urges c. govt to issue permit for Tebo coal-fired plant

Jambi Governor Hasan Basri Agus met with Coordinating Minister for the Economy Chairul Tanjung on Tuesday to urge the central government to accelerate the issuance of necessary permits for the construction of a 2x200 MW coal fired power plant in Tebo Regency, Jambi.
Hasan told reporters that since the provincial administration signed an agreement with Korea-East Power (KOSEP) Co Ltd and PT Tebo Agung International for the development of the US$750 million power plant in October of last year, there has been no progress in the construction of the project.
?We?ll follow this up so that construction can start soon,? Chairul said, adding that his office will coordinate with related government offices including the state-owned electricity firm PLN.(*)
