Japan co seeks to buy Sumatra gas for Malaysia power project

Indonesian upstream oil and gas authority BP Migas said a Japan company, which has combined-cycle power plant project in peninsular Malaysia, had filed request looking for possibility to buy natural gas from South Sumatra.
?The company is seeking long-term contract of around 300 million standard cubic feet per day (MMCFD),? said BP Migas chairman Kardaya Warnika. Kardaya said BP Migas had passed the request to US oil giant ConocoPhillips which operates Corridor PSC on shore South Sumatra.
Kardaya did not reveal the name of the Japanese company.(godang)
