Japan LNG buyers to meet with RI producers

Japanese LNG buyers plan to visit Indonesia in September for a talk with Indonesian government and LNG producers in Bali, according to a senior governmental official.
?The meeting aims to discuss problems in the LNG industry,? director general of oil and gas Iin Arifin Takhyan said on Monday in Batam on the sidelines of the ceremony to inaugurate the gas pipeline linking Sumatra to Singapore.
He did not provide details of the meeting, but the visit comes amid Indonesia?s increasing worries about the prospect that Japanese LNG buyers ? Indonesia?s longtime customers -- will switch orders to other producers who offer cheaper prices. Indonesia is working hard to persuade Japanese to continue buying or buy more LNG from the country.
