Japan to help upgrade Berau coal quality

The Berau district administration in East Kalimantan has reached agreement with the Japanese government for the latter to help upgrade the quality of the local coal product, the Kaltim Post daily reported.

The paper quoted Berau Regent Masdjuni as saying that Japan would introduce the so-called upgrade brown coal (UBC) technology in the area.

Masdjuni said that the UBC technology would provide opportunity for the Berau district to increase the region?s income.(*)
