Indonesia-listed heavy equipment distributor and miner PT United Tractors Tbk (UT) said that its Central Kalimantan coal miner PT Tuah Turangga Agung (TTA) is on track to meet its production target of 1.5 million tonnes this year.

?At present, the mine has come to full operation as the weather condition at the mine has improved,? UT's corporate secretary Sara Loebis told Petromindo.com on Thursday.

Contracts have been in place to deliver all the coal from TTA to Japan, she said without giving further details.

TTA coal has a calorific value of 6,300 kcal/kg (ADB), she said. As of May this year, TTA has produced 465,000 tonnes.

Meanwhile, other?s UT coal mine PT Dasa Eka Jasatama (DEJ) in South Kalimantan is expected to produce 2.5 million tonnes of coal this year, she said. As of May, DEJ has produced 1.32 million tonnes.

She also said that UT is still in negotiation to acquire more coal mines in Central Kalimantan. ?I don?t know exactly when the acquisition will be finalized. But for sure, UT will realize the acquisition of the mines this year."

Earlier, Sara said that both mines were greenfield ones (denny)
