Japanese firms compete to win PLN?s interconnection consultant bid

Four consortiums have confirmed their participation in the planned tender to choose consultant for the development of Jawa-Sumatra power interconnection owned by state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).
PLN?s director for planning and technology Nasri Sebayang said on Wednesday that the 4 consortiums are all from Japan, which are respectively led by NEWJEC Inc, a unit of the Kansai Electric Power Co; Tokyo Electric Power Services Co., Ltd. (TEPSCO), Nippon Koei Co Ltd. and J-Power.
The winner will be announced in March this year, he said, without giving further details. (bernard)
