Japanese investor to develop power plant in Riau

Japanese investor Morgan and Morgan Group (MMG) plans to set up a combined 2x600 MW power plant at coal mine mouth in Cerenti, Kuantan Singingi regency, and in Pranap, Indragiri Hulu regency, both in Riau.
The Neraca daily quoted Riau Governor Rusli Zainal as saying on Thursday that the Japanese investors had signed an MoU with local company PT Pengembangan Investasi Riau to develop the US$1.2 billion power project.
Construction is expected to start next year.(*)
