Japanese western buyers are interested in purchasing the uncommitted LNG cargoes for the period until 2018 from Indonesia, according to a senior official at state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina.

?The uncommitted LNG cargoes can be offered via tender or through bilateral (talks) with existing (traditional LNG) buyers. The existing buyers are mostly the western buyers who are interested in buying the uncommitted LNG cargoes from Indonesia. We hope that all (uncommitted LNG cargoes) until 2018 can be sold,? said Vice President for LNG Marketing at PT Pertamina, Wiko Mirgantoro to Petromindo.com on Thursday.

He said that there are around 20 uncommitted LNG cargoes to be sold the market. He added that Pertamina officials are currently in Japan to talk with the buyers of Indonesian LNG.
