Jatenergy signs agreement with China Coal Research Institute

ASX-listed Jatenergy Ltd said on Tuesday it has signed cooperation agreement with China Coal Research Institute to help market the latter?s clean coal technology.

?The agreement provides Jatenergy with direct access to the growth industry of Clean Coal Technologies that are being proliferated in China. Jatenergy is always seeking newer and better technologies that will pave the future for increasing energy demand,? the company said in a statement.

Recently Jatenergy moved into a global marketing license (with the exception of China) for Coal Plus, a coal upgrading technology. ?We hope to be able to globally market Chinese technologies that are currently commercial producing return for their investors. The focus is on technology that is proven and can be easily transferred and implemented. It takes the risk out of the potential investment as the return can be proven,? said Tony Crimmins, Executive Chairman of Jatenergy.

China Coal Research Institute saw the opportunity to tap into Jatenergy?s growing market awareness as a technology shop for reliable Clean Coal Technologies highly sought in the growing awareness on climate change, the statement said.

The Coal Plus technology is a proprietary coal upgrading technology which coverts low value brown coal into high value energy products. Unlike existing coal upgrade technologies which are mostly at pilot plant stage, Coal Plus Technology is proven and there are currently three plants operating in Asia. Jatenergy has the license for Coal Plus technology for Indonesia extending itself to South East Asia and is currently looking to license technology, specifically in Indonesia on project by project basis.

The China Coal Research Institute ( CCRI ), established in 1957 is an exclusive comprehensive research and development institute in Chinese coal industry. In the year of 1999, CCRI was turned into a key backbone enterprise under the direct leadership of the Central Enterprise Working Commission. There are 17 branches, institutes, centers and companies in CCRI and they are located 11 large and medium cities, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Taiyuan and others.

With over 5,200 staff member comprising of 1,500 senior engineers and scientists CCCI boast one of the largest institutes concentrating on Coal. In 45 years CCCI is China?s the main resource to push the technical advancement in the coal industry. With many years of development, CCRI's technical products and construction technologies have entered the international market.
