Java-Bali grid returns to normal after BP resumes gas supply

State electricity firm PT PLN said power supply on the Java-Bali grid has returned to normal after BP Indonesia has resumed gas supplies from its offshore gas fields in West Java.

Company acting president Djuanda Nugraha Ibrahim said on Friday that PLN?s power plants in Tanjung Priok and Muara Karang in North Jakarta had resumed normal operations after receiving gas supplies from BP on Sunday.

Both power plants were forced to run a partial operation last month using diesel oil following a stoppage in gas supplies from BP. BP could not send its gas from its offshore fields in West Java due to a rupture in its underwater transmission pipeline. (Godang)
