Java-Bali power system back to normal status

The Java-Bali power grid system returned on Saturday to a ?normal status? as electricity reserve on the grid increased to 1,523 megawatts (MW) from 375 MW on Thursday, according to state electricity company PT PLN.

The firm said in its website that several power units, including the Unit 2 of the Paiton power plant (370 MW) and the Unit 2 of the Suralaya power plant (381 MW), have finished maintenance earlier than schedule, brining a combined capacity of 1,148 MW to the power grid.

The website also showed that the grid is now able to provide around 14,123 MW while the peak demand is estimated at about 12,600 MW.

Meanwhile, maintenance works for 19 power units, which have a combined capacity of 2,076 MW, are still in progress. (Robert)
