Java Sea oil, gas production unaffected by bad weather: BPMIGAS

Monday, January 7 2008 - 03:51 AM WIB

Upstream oil and gas authority BPMIGAS said on Monday production of oil, gas fields that operate along offshore Java remain largely unaffected by bad weather condition that hit Java sea in the past two weeks.

?So far, production from fields operated by BP, CNOOC, Kodeco, Santos, Hess and other producers are unaffected by bad weather condition,? Sucahyo Pratomo, BPMIGAS Field Operations Division Head told Petromindo.Com on Monday.

BPMIGAS Vice Chairman Abdul Muin, however, said that bad weather condition had delayed crude unloading process as high tide combined with wind had prevented vessels to approach the floating storage facilities.

He also said that one FSO in Kengean PSC, which stores crude production from Sepanjang field in Kangean PSC had been hit by supply boat and leaked. Another FSO operated by PetroChina in East Java is also hit by similar incident, he said. (godang)
