The commissioning, which started in April this year, has been running well and if everything is going well, it is expected to start full operation in September, the official said.
The parent company has said in a statement that once it has come into full operation, the new line will bring Jembayan mine?s total installed infrastructure capacity to a nominal 12 million tonnes per annum.
In October 2009, the second load-out facility collapsed due to a failure in foundation structure caused by heavy rains. Prior to the incident, there were two load-out facilities of similar capacity at the site. The first load-out facility, callled Line 1, which has a nominal capacity of 5.5 million tonnes per annum, was not affected by the incident
According to the official, Jembayan is confident to produce around 9.4 million tonnes of coal this year, unchanged from last year. ?Actually for this year, our production target is 9.9 million tonnes but due to unfavorable weather condition, we can?t meet the target,? the official said. (denny)
