Jembayan load-out facility construction still on progress

Singapore-listed coal miner Straits Asia Resources Limited said on Tuesday that the reconstruction of the second load-out facility at its Jembayan mine in East Kalimantan is expected to be completed in April this year, slighlty later than the initial schedule of March.

?Works on project are going on. It might be completed next month,? a company official told Petromindo.Com without giving further details.

The company has said in a statement that once commissioned, the new line will bring Jembayan mine?s total installed infrastructure capacity to a nominal 12 million tonnes per annum (mtpa).

The project is expected to cost approximately US$20 million.

This year, Jembayan plans to produce around 9 million tonnes of coal. For 2010 coal production, Jembayan produced 9.45 million tonnes, higher than the company's initial target of 8.5 million tonnes (denny)
