Jembayan mine on track to sell 8-8.5MT of coal this year

Singapore-listed coal miner Straits Asia Resources Limited said on Monday that its 2010 sales target of coal from Jembayan mine in East Kalimantan remains unchanged at 8.0 to 8.5 million tons (MT).
Straits sold 7.29 MT of Jembayan coal in 2009, up from 4.98 MT in 2008. Straits is planning to expand Jembayan capacity to 11 MT per annum.
The firm is currently producing coal at two subsidiaries namely PT Bahari Cakrawala Sebuku in South Kalimantan and PT Jembayan Muara Bara in East Kalimantan.
It sold a combined 9.2 MT of coal produced by both miners last year, up from 8.58 MT in 2008.
Its coal production target for 2009 was between 9 and 11 MT. This year, the firm has targeted to produce around 12 MT. (denny).
