Jeneponto coal-fired power plant unit IIIA begins operation

The PLTU Jeneponto coal-fired power plant unit IIIA, with capacity of 2x125 MW, in South Sulawesi Province has started commercial operation since Sunday.

The provincial administration said in a statement that a ceremony was held to mark the first firing of the power plant, owned by PT Bosowa Energi, attended among others by provincial Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo and company top officials.

The governor said that that South Sulawesi now has installed power capacity of 1,300 MW, with peak load of 900 MW, providing power reserves of 400 MW. He said that this should bode well to the government?s efforts in helping to lure fresh investment to the province.
