Jero attends ICMA new officers' inauguration

Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik is seen attending today's new officers' inauguration of Indonesian Coal Miners' Association at Hotel Intercontinental MidPlaza Jakarta, previously re-elected Bob Kamandanu as chairman for the second term between 2012-2015.

"Coal utilization remains phenomenal in Asia, with more producers like the US, Mozambique, Colombia and Russia joining the competition," he said on Monday, adding that Indonesia will need to also make use of its coal through more mine mouth power plant projects, as well as upgrading its coal with coal gassification and coal upgrading technologies.

In addition to Bob, the association also appoints Supriatna Suhala and Anim Lukman as Executive Director and Executive Director Assistant, while big names in the industry such as Garibaldi Thohir from Adaro Energy Tbk, A.Sulaiman (Chairman Hasnur Group), Rosan Perkasa Roeslani from PT Berau Coal Energy Tbk, Edy Sugianto (Chairman PT Mandiri Intiperkasa), Milawarma from PT Bukit Asam Tbk, Kaz Tanaka from PT Pendopo Energi Batubara, Reza Hatta Rajasa from Indoensian House of Commerce and PT Kaltim Prima Coal & PT Arutmin Indonesia commissioner Yanti Sinaga were appointed as advisors.

H.Kirtiadi, Executive Director of PT Tanito Harum Tbk was reappointed as company secretary, while the association also appoints 11 key persons to sit as vice chairmans, namely Herman Heru Suprobo (PT Kirana Berau Director), A.Latief Baky (PT Bukit Asam Tbk Independent Commissioner), Leonard Lembong (PT Adaro Mining Technologies Director), Jeffrey Mulyono (PT Bhakti Energi Persada President Director), Devindra Ratzarwin (Corporate Secretary of PT Adaro Energy Tbk), Irawan Poerwo (Managing Director PT Media Djaya Bersama), Didik Cahyanto (Senior Deputy Director of PT Berau Coal Energy Tbk), Herman Kasih (PT Mandiri Intiperkasa Director), Gatut S Adisoma (PT Multi Harapan Utama Director), Daniel Chandra (Chairman ICMA Jambi) and Husein Akma (Representative of ICMA East Kalimantan.

Jero expressed its support to ICMA, expecting coal associations to work together in harmony.
