Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik has set the ceiling price for electricity generation from solar at 25 US cent per kwh for a period of 20 years.
Jero said Wednesday the Ministry is now working on to determine the ceiling price for geothermal, but he said the price would hover around 10 cent per kWh in Sumatra and 11 cent in Java.
Jero said the price is expected to help boost the development of renewable sources of energy in Indonesia. At present, renewable sources of energy only make up 5.67 percent in the country's energy mix.
